Interventional Radiology (IR)is a dynamic procedural department that performs a wide range of image-guided interventions using fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to precisely target therapy. Many IR procedures offer minimally invasive alternatives to traditional surgery.
The Interventional Radiology team collaborates closely with multiple specialties across the organization, including nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery,oncology, vascular surgery, and gynecology. Registered Nurses work side by side with a multidisciplinary team to support all aspects of patient care throughout the procedural continuum.
The department manages a high volume of procedures, including—but not limited to—central venous access, endovascular interventions,image-guided drain placements, dialysis access maintenance, inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement, nephrostomy tube placement, and gastrostomy tube placement.
This position is a Monday–Friday schedule with 10-hour shifts and shared on-call responsibilities. Candidates should have at least 2 years of acute care experience, with prior Critical Care experience highly desirable. Training for ACLS and Moderate Sedation will be provided.
The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization and is responsible for autonomous practice directed by the professional tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist and transferor. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and to continuously monitor and evaluate practice to ensure safe passage of patients that is in the best interest of populations served.
