Inova Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Interventional Radiology unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. This full-time role supports a dynamic IR team with rotating Pre/Intra/Post responsibilities and coverage for on-call nights and weekends as described.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of RN experience, hold a BSN (or ADN with a BSN within 5 years), and Virginia nursing licensure with BLS. The department emphasizes teamwork, safety, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsabilidades

• Rotate through Pre, Intra, and Post (recovery) areas of the Interventional Radiology department to support procedures.
• Assist with biopsies and vascular procedures, drain and line placements, and other IR-related tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate closely with IR providers and technicians to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Registered Nurse (RN) Interventional Radiology

Job Description

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for an experienced Nurse to join its dynamic Interventional Radiology team in a Full-time status.

Schedule: 4x 9 hour shifts weekly M-F, 1 on-call weekday night shift every 2 weeks, 1 weekend every 5 weeks.

Unit covers hours: 8am-5pm

Interventional Radiology Unitdescription: 6 pre/post procedural bays, 2 procedural rooms, this team handles approximately 14 procedures daily including but not limited to Biopsies (Liver, Bone, Bone Marrow), Never Ablation, Vascular Procedures, Drain and Line Placement, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, GI procedures.Nurses are trained to rotate through the Pre, Intra, and Post (recovery) areas of the department, working closely with the interventional radiology provider and techs to provide exceptional patient care and outcomes.

CVIR Qualifications:

• Requires minimum 1 year (RN) nursing experience.


• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.


• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.


• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification issued by the AHA is required at start.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred CVIR Qualifications:

• IR RN experience or 2+ years’ experience in a critical care and/or procedural/peri-anesthesia area.
