Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 for the Interventional Radiology team. The role is day shift, M-F with four 10-hour shifts and includes a sign-on and relocation bonus.

Responsibilities include supporting documentation, acting as a clinical resource, ensuring accurate charge data, and assisting with instrument calibration and monitoring during procedures. ACLS/BLS within 90 days; Virginia RN licensure within 12 months.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• RN licensure in Virginia required within 12 months unless RCIS/RCES/RTRVI/RTRCV/RTRCI certification obtained within one year.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology program may be acceptable.

• Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process and plans care.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor, showing leadership and pursuing ongoing learning.
• Maintains accurate patient charge information and data for outcomes reports.
• Delegates patient care activities and supports efficient room turnover.
• Calibrates, operates and troubleshoots equipment; monitors EKG and physiologic data during procedures.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process. Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients.
• Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
• Consistently enters patient charge information accurately and maintains statistical data for the outcome report to include ACC and Hi-IQ data bases.
• Appropriately delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments. Takes initiative to participate in efficient and timely room turnover.
• Calibrates, operates and troubleshoots a wide variety of equipment and instruments. Selects appropriate instruments and supplies based on patient presentation during procedure. Monitors the EKG, hemodynamic pressure and other physiologic data during the procedure.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

• Certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of hire; Registered in one of the following or must obtain within one year of hire: RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, RTRCI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure - Registered Nurse Within 12 Months RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required only if the certification requirement for RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, or RTRCI cannot be obtained within one year. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also obtain their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 30 days of hire.
• Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or a graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience
