Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for the IMC step-down and stroke unit. The RN will perform essential functions including assessment, nursing diagnosis, care coordination, and discharge planning, all guided by evidence-based practice.

The role requires an Oklahoma RN license, BLS, and completion of Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program for new grads. Schedule is 7a-7p, Day shift; Regular full-time with comprehensive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required; BSN/MSN preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare preferred.
• Oklahoma RN license required; BLS certification required during orientation and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assessment/reassessment of health care needs for individuals across age groups.
• Nursing diagnosis and outcome planning in collaboration with patient and family.
• Coordination of care and implementation of nursing interventions guided by evidence-based practice.

Norman Regional Hospital IntermediateCare (IMC) cares for a wide variety of critical patients with complex medical conditions. NRHS IMC team is the step down unit and dedicated stroke unit providing award winning advanced stroke care.

Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program
