Job summary

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD, part of MedStar Health, seeks a Clinical Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit. The 12-hour day or night shifts (7a-7p) offer non-rotating schedules with charge nurse support, in a Magnet-recognized, 120-bed facility between DC and Baltimore.

We welcome nurses with ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL and a minimum of one year ICU experience, with MD RN (or Compact) and BLS required. Full-time position with excellent benefits and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year of ICU experience required.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

The MedStar Montgomery Medical Center is a 120-bed full-service ANCC Magnet-recognized facility located in the historic enclave of Olney Maryland, situated nearly equally between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore Maryland, and is part of the 10-hospital MedStar Health system.

The 12-bed ICU admits a wide array of patient diagnoses ranging from neuro, cardiac, G.I., renal and vascular ailments, to post-operative procedures. As part of an American Heart Association Gold-Plus Certified Primary Stroke Center, the ICU also manages patients recovering from acute strokes including those who have received thrombolytic therapy. Nurses work 12-hour day or night shifts (non-rotating) and participate in self-scheduling. Nurses are supported each shift with a dedicated charge nurse.
