Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Inpatient Rehabilitation. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on our 217-bed facility's Acute Rehabilitation Unit and collaborate with physical, occupational and speech therapists to support neuro-recovery.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, participate in weekly conferences, and manage admission paperwork for the Rehabilitation Unit.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (RN Compact License holders must obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire).
  • Current BLS Certification is required.
  • 1 year of clinical Rehabilitation/Neuro Stroke experience as an RN is required; Med-Surg experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patients.
  • Meet Standards of Practice for the Rehabilitation Unit and manage personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve quality of patient care.
  • Instruct patients/families regarding the disease process.
  • Handle admission paperwork specific to the Rehabilitation Unit.
  • Participate in weekly patient care conferences as needed.
  • Charge the unit as needed.

Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 7a-7p/Rotating Weekends

Advance your clinical practice at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress as an Inpatient Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN), where you will deliver life-changing patient care within our newly expanded, 217-licensed-bed general acute care hospital. Practice at the forefront of neurological and functional recovery inside a facility backed by prestigious clinical designations, including an official Texas DSHS Trauma Level III Center, a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, and an accredited Chest Pain Center. Operating within our brand-new, state-of-the-art 23-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit located inside the $100M North Patient Tower, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists. To support this specialized service line, you will manage comprehensive, around-the-clock clinical care for complex populations recovering from strokes, amputations, brain injuries, joint replacements, and severe trauma. Job Summary and qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What You Will Do In Your Role:
  • You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
  • You will be responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Rehabilitation Unit and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • You will participate in activities to plan, measure, asses and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Instructs patients/families regarding the disease process.
  • You will be responsible for additional admission paperwork specific to the Rehabilitation Unit.
  • You will participate in weekly patient care conferences, as needed.
  • You will assume the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
