Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality care across the patient lifespan. You will assess patients, develop care plans, implement nursing interventions and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications include an accredited nursing degree and active RN license; oncology chemotherapy certification within 6 months; EPIC EHR training preferred; experience in medical/surgical or oncology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Oncology chemotherapy certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of medical/surgical or oncology experience preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates effectiveness.
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliate to maintain physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability.
• Administers chemotherapy and other medications, starts IVs, transfuses blood and blood products.
• Anticipates and responds to evolving patient conditions and provides patient and family education.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions
• Having a highly diverse medical skillset
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan
• Administers chemotherapy and other medication, starts IV's, transfuses blood and blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomies
• Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• One (1) year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required)

Training

• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
