Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Infusion at St. Charles Hospital to deliver exceptional nursing care to patients.

You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and administer chemotherapy and IV therapies in a fast-paced oncology infusion setting. The role requires an accredited nursing degree, RN licensure, and certification in chemotherapy within six months of hire; BLS is preferred with ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS required or ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS; ONS Chemotherapy Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Administers chemotherapy and other medications, starts IVs, transfuses blood and blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability across the lifespan.
• Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions
• Having a highly diverse medical skillset
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan

• Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• One (1) year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required)

Training

• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
