Mercy Health's Paducah Cancer Center is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care, administer chemotherapy, and coordinate patient treatment plans within a supportive, faith-based health system.

You will perform IV starts, monitor patient responses, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Chemotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion – Paducah Cancer Center

Job Summary

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Implementing clinical nursing interventions
• Having a highly diverse medical skillset
• Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan
• Administers chemotherapy and other medication, starts IV's, transfuses blood and blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomies
• Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire)

Experience

• One (1) year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required)

Training

• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
