Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Control Preventionist

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree; BS preferred, completed nursing school.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in this state.
• At least two years of experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques.
• APIC certification preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a post-offer criminal background check and physical/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Report all reportable diseases to health authorities.
• Assist with in-services on wound, ostomy, and incontinence care.
• Coordinate with residents, families, and staff to prevent and control infections.
• Train staff on exposure risks and safety procedures.
