Requirements

• Associates Degree or BS in Nursing; completed nursing school
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state
• Minimum of two years' experience in healthcare setting (hospital, nursing care, etc.)
• Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques, and precautions
• APIC certification preferred but not required
• Successful background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Report reportable diseases to health authorities
• Conduct in-services on wound care, ostomy, incontinence, and infection prevention
• Coordinate with residents, families, and staff on infection control needs
• Train staff on exposure risks and safety procedures
