Texas Health Dallas is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our NICU, a fast-paced Level III unit. The role delivers patient-centered care at night, supporting certification opportunities in Neonatal Nursing and caring for 22+ weeks gestation infants.

Requirements include a Nursing Diploma or ADN, BSN preferred, and at least one year of NICU experience. BCLS, NRP, NRPA, and CPI training are required within specified timelines. A strong team environment awaits you.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required by hire date.
• One year of clinical nurse experience or completion of RN residency.
• NICU experience strongly preferred.
• BCLS certification required before independent patient care.
• NRP and NRPA certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training required within 90 days and maintained annually.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient and plans the course of care.
• Intervenes as appropriate and documents actions.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Implements age-specific safety and infection control measures.
• Communicates patient information to the care team.
• Maintains continuity of care during shift changes and transfers.

Here’s What You Need

• Diploma in Nursing required or
• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
• BSN preferred
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• One year of NICU experience strongly preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
• NRPA - Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days and
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
