Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit in Pennsylvania. This part-time role offers variable 12-hour shifts and two weekend shifts per month with major holidays, focusing on high‑acuity care in a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital.

You'll provide direct patient care, document interventions, monitor conditions, and collaborate across disciplines while supporting patient education and family communication.

Qualifications

• Requires current state RN license and ADN; two years acute care or one year cardiac unit experience; BSN preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, and CPR certifications required or to be obtained within specified timeframe.
• Trauma nursing or CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educates patient/family according to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

• Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or Greater than Six months current employment as RN in a Critical Care UnitBSN, MSN PreferredCurrent BLS/CPR certification.


• Current ACLS certification, Basic Dysrhythmia Course, Critical Care Course or acquire within 6 months of employment.


• Trauma Nurse Course current or acquire within 1 year


• PALS certification current or acquire within 2 years.


• CCRN Preferred
