Job summary

Nashville General Hospital seeks an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit. This is a 13 bed unit with a 2:1 patient ratio and a role dedicated to high-quality patient care.

As an ICU RN, you will manage medications, ventilator support, and multidisciplinary coordination, while documenting patient status and coordinating discharge planning with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Current Tennessee RN license or compact state license.

Responsibilities

• Administer meds, change dressings, monitor vital signs and wounds.
• Provide respiratory and ventilator management for ICU patients.
• Coordinate care across disciplines for well‑rounded patient care.
• Document patient condition using computerized systems and communicate changes.
• Assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

Job description

Nashville General Hospital seeks to hire an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) who will embrace our commitment to providing quality care to every patient and family member.

This is a 13 Bed Unit with a 2:1 Patient Ratio.

As an ICU RN, you will:

• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Provide respiratory, and ventilator management and monitoring for patients
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of your healthcare team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Program
• 2 years minimum of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS are required
• Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state
