Job summary

A healthcare facility in Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for their Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This full-time position focuses on delivering critical care to patients, requiring excellent critical thinking and decisive judgment. Candidates must hold an Associate's degree and be licensed to practice in Kentucky or hold a provisional license. Qualifications

  • Require an Associate's degree with a preference for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must obtain BLS within 30 days and ACLS, PALS, HWC within 6 months of hire.
  • Registered Nurse licensed in Kentucky or provisional license for new graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care and monitor conditions.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities.
  • Coordinate patient care with other disciplines.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
  • Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.

Position Summary

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is an 8‑bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

Responsibilities
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
  • Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities and help them deal with family member's illness.

Licenses
  • Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky.
  • New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
