Job summary

Lifepoint Health's UP Health System - Marquette in Marquette, MI is hiring an ICU RN for full-time 6x12-hour shifts, 7-7, with rotating weekends and holidays. This role includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants and a commitment to personal and professional growth within a supportive team.

You will provide direct critical care, monitor patients, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Current Michigan RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).
BLS-HCP, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC certifications within required timeframes.
Experience in ICU/IMCU settings and critical care procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs plan of care including medication administration and clinical treatments.
Documents patient care and monitors patient condition for the care team.
Assists with activities of daily living and coordinates transfers and discharges.
Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
Advocates for patient well-being and supports multidisciplinary care.

More about our team

ICU has 24 total beds with the ability to care for ICU and IMCU patient populations with care aide support. This team supports open heart, neuro surg, CRRT programs, as the level 2 trauma center for the UP of Michigan, Cath lab and Interventional radiology perform high risk PCI and high-risk procedures. ClinicalEducator is located on the unit and follows the ECCOs program for orientation. Acuity changes from high ICU census to high IMCU census.

How you'll contribute

An ICU RN who excels in this role:

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).

Additional requirements include

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)
