Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Georgetown is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit. This full-time night shift offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a 3x12 schedule with rotating weekends.

The ICU is a 6-bed unit with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, dedicated to high-quality, compassionate care. Ideal candidates hold a Kentucky RN license, an associate degree in nursing, and required BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact RN license.
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire.
• Handle With Care within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care including medication administration, specimens, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care with across disciplines and supports transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides appropriate education.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a 6-bed unit that provides specialized care for critically ill patients. The unit maintains a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure close monitoring, timely interventions, and high-quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

AnIntensive Care Unit RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition – and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
