Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for day shifts to perform essential nursing duties across patient populations. The role emphasizes assessment, diagnosis, interventions, and discharge planning within an evidence-based practice framework.

Qualifications include Oklahoma RN licensure and BLS certification; new grads may join the Nurse Residency Program. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN must hold a current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required or retraining during orientation; maintained throughout employment.
• New grads may participate in Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess health care needs for individuals across age groups.
• Develop nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes with patient, family, and team.
• Implement and coordinate care using evidence-based practice and policy.
• Evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking and evidence-based knowledge.
• Assist with discharge planning related to the care plan.

Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
