Registered Nurse (RN) I - Surgery Circulator - CVOR at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) I - Surgery Circulator in CVOR provides high-quality peri-operative care and collaborates with healthcare professionals to manage cardiothoracic and vascular surgery cases. This role requires strong critical thinking, autonomy, and teamwork skills while ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for professional advancement within the surgical services department at Norman Regional Hospital.

Overview:

Up to $10K Sign On Bonus paid over 1 year.

Compensation / Benefits

  • $27.84-$45.46/hr. based on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $2.50/hr.
  • Night differential $3.00/hr.
  • Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

We have 2 operating rooms, one traditional operating room and one hybrid operating room, for cardiothoracic and vascular cases located in the HealthPlex tower at Norman Regional Hospital. Norman Regional Hospital currently houses the largest hybrid operating room in the state of Oklahoma. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills while caring for a wide range of patient types. We orient new nurses to each of our surgical areas, spending time with dedicated preceptors in each area. Upon completion of orientation, nurses will be able to circulate cardiothoracic and vascular cases as well as a wide variety of other service lines. Responsibilities:

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy.
  • Establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care.
  • Evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
  • Plans, prepares, and provides individualized peri-operative care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Directs surgery department staff in the care of the surgical patient.
Qualifications:

Education

  • Diploma or Associates degree required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master's of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • CVOR experience highly preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru retraining for duration of employment.
