Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital in White Hall, AR, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor for a full-time day shift on 3x12-hour schedules (7:00am-7:00pm). The RN House Supervisor oversees nursing staff, coordinates staffing, and ensures high-quality patient care in a behavioral health and rehabilitation setting.

Required: Associate's degree; BSN preferred; 4 years nursing; BLS; ability to work under pressure. Lifepoint Health operates the hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience.
• Behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing levels and assigns based on census, acuity, and staff availability.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and participates in care decisions.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving and coverage.
• Manages admissions, discharges, and transfers per protocol.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes and addresses issues impacting quality.
• Responds to patient care complaints and resolves through established channels.
• Ensures nurses have equipment and supplies to deliver safe care.

Our 36-bed Behavioral Health Unit offers a comprehensive continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, providing compassionate care to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health needs. As the House Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and competency checklists. You will promote collaboration, open communication, staff development, and clinical excellence, helping to strengthen teamwork, support continuity of care, and create a culture where both patients and team members can thrive.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor who excels in this role:

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and related services and manages through established channels.
• Performs role‑specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
• Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Initiates weekend case management, Utilization review screening, assists with D/C planning and swing intake.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Certifications: Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must be able to successfully complete Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience required
• Previous behavioral health experience preferred
