Job summary

Iowa Skilled Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to perform patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions and evaluations designed to prevent complications, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to a changed lifestyle.

You will apply the nursing process to deliver quality care according to standards, maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, and support patients in regaining abilities to return home at their highest level of independence.

Qualifications

• Active RN license is required.
• One year recent experience preferred; skilled setting experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification from AHA required.
• Current ACLS certification from AHA preferred.
• Must have electronic charting system experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions and evaluations.
• Ensure that nursing care meets established standards and quality.
• Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Assist patients in regaining physical or cognitive abilities to return home at their highest level of independence.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include but are not limited to:

The role is responsible for patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help the patient adapt to an altered lifestyle. Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality and efficient patient care according to established standards. Ensures that professional and acute nursing care has been provided to all patients. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. Performs other duties as directed. Assist patients in regaining their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence.

Qualifications of the Registered Nurse include:

• An active RN license.
• One (1) year recent experience preferred. Skilled setting preferred.
• The desire to care for compromised patients and act with integrity.
• The ability to work flexible hours.
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Must have electronic charting system experience
