Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Hartford Hospital CB3 medical-surgical unit cares for liver and kidney transplant patients before and after surgery. Nurses work with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care, guided by evidence-based practice and the nursing process to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational needs of patients and families.

This role requires CT RN licensure, ASN with BSN to be pursued within 6 years, BSN preferred, and BLS certification prior to hire.

Qualifications

  • Connecticut RN license required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • ASN required with commitment to obtain BSN within 6 years.
  • BSN preferred.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care for diverse liver/kidney transplant patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based care plans.
  • Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Job Summary

CB3 is a medical-surgical unit, specializing in the care of liver and kidney transplant patients pre and post-surgery. The unit is one of the most diverse units in the organization caring for a diverse mix of complex medical and complex surgical patients.

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.

Qualifications
  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role)
  • BSN preferred.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
