Job summary

Hartford Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking an oncology/medical RN to join the CB2 team. You will provide patient-centered cancer care, including solid tumor and hematologic malignancies, within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment under the Nurse Manager.

Use evidence-based practices to develop and implement plans of care per state regulations and hospital policies. Requirements include a current Connecticut RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, ASN

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ASN required (BSN within 6 years).
• BLS certification required prior to date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered oncology/med-surgical nursing care to solid tumor and hematology patients.
• Develop and implement a plan of care using the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support patient/family education and needs.

Job Summary

CB2 serves the medical oncology population of the organization and commonly includes: solid tumor cancer patients, hematological cancer patients, acute leukemia and lymphoma patients, and benign hematology patients, along with the provision of hospice and end of life care. The unit also services the needs of a variety of med-surg overflow patients when necessary and appropriate.
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role)
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
