Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 0.9 FTE evening shift at the 14 West General Medicine unit. You will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care, leading with evidence-based practice to ensure safe and effective outcomes for diverse acute medical patients.

The position requires completion of an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, and BLS certification, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Where You Will Work

14 West is a 31-bed High Reliability General Medicine Care unit. The unit is inclusive of 13 private, and 9 semi-private rooms. 14 West has a focus in Hospice Care, Adult Cystic Fibrosis, general medical/surgical diagnosis, and substance abuse. Typical patient population includes abdominal pain, pneumonia, infectious diseases, substance abuse, pain management, and chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The unit has one negative pressure isolation room. A multidisciplinary team approach to patient care is evident on the unit. In addition, 14 West staff promotes and practices according to relationship-based care model of nursing.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Status: Full time 0.9

Hours: 7PM-7AM, rotating weekend

We’re Looking For

What You’ll Do

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
