Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL seeks a Registered Nurse for the Rapid Response Team on a full-time night shift (7p–7a). You’ll provide rapid, high-level nursing interventions in complex patient care across units.

You will apply critical care expertise, lead rapid responses, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license issued by the State of Illinois.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 3 years of critical care nursing experience.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing interventions during high acuity situations to improve outcomes.
• Serve as expert resource for code blues, including intubations and rapid responses.
• Make independent judgments and collaborate with unit leadership during acute events.
• Partner with clinical teams to ensure the best patient outcomes and experiences in a safe environment.

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in Critical Care
• Charge experience preferred
• Nationally accredited nursing certification (CCRN) preferred

What You’ll Do

• Rapid Response Nurse is a highly specialized RN who provides support and direct nursing interventions during high acuity situations. This team member's main purpose is to improve the experience of critically ill patients throughout the different clinical areas, establishing optimal levels of care and improved outcomes.
• This team member serves as an expert resource for unit staff with regards to Code Blues including intubations, Rapid Responses, Massive Transfusion Protocol, stroke alerts, hyperbaric dives and other critical events.
• Makes independent decisions/judgments and takes actions regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations. Collaborates with unit leadership in managing acute patient care events and situations.
• Partners with the various clinical teams to provide the necessary interventions to ensure the best patient outcomes and best patient experience in the safest environment.
