Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible and accountable for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Nursing care involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures adherence to care standards, maintains a safe environment, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. All duties follow North Shore policies, procedures, the State Nurse Practice Act, and applicable JCAHO standards.

Requirements of the Position:

• Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to operate necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
• Ability to calculate drug dosages
• Meet all health requirements mandated by law
• Positive, effective, and appropriate communication with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn company applications
• Experience in a fast-paced environment

Preferred: Previous post-acute care experience
