Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures standards of care are met, maintains a safe environment, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. Adheres to North Shore policies and procedures, complies with the State Nurse Practice Act, and follows JCAHO standards where applicable.

Requirements of the Position:

• Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to operate necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
• Ability to calculate drug dosages
• Meet all health requirements mandated by law
• Effective communication and positive interaction with residents, families, staff, and community members
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn company applications
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Post-acute care experience preferred
