Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible and accountable for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Responsibilities include assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the care plan. The RN ensures standards of care are met, maintains a safe environment, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. Adheres to all North Shore policies and procedures, complies with the State Nurse Practice Act, and follows applicable JCAHO standards.

Requirements of the Position:
  • Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to operate necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
  • Ability to calculate drug dosages
  • Meet all health requirements mandated by law
  • Ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
  • Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn company applications
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous post-acute care experience preferred
