Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care. You will assess, monitor, and document patient status, triage emergent cases, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans.

The role requires strong clinical skills, adherence to safety and infection control standards, and a commitment to education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Illinois RN license required.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC/TNS certifications or eligibility within specified timeframes.
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience; 18 months acute/critical care or ED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care including assessments, monitoring, and documentation.
• Triage patients accurately and respond to emergent situations.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Supervise and orient Emergency Department Technicians and new staff.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide quarterly updates on departmental action plans.
