Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Reno seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care on the medical-surgical unit under Nursing leadership.

You will coordinate interdisciplinary care, assist with discharge planning, and provide patient/family teaching to support post-hospital recovery. This is a full-time role within a collaborative nursing team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where the hospital resides (Nevada).
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct and supervise patient care on the medical-surgical unit.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and resource access.
• May perform Charge Nurse duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
