Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Shreveport is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care on the medical-surgical unit. The role includes discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospital care, and coordinating with the care team for optimal outcomes.

Current RN licensure in the state or a compact license is required, with BLS certification and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Holds a current RN license in the state or a compact license where applicable.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training:

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
