Role Overview

Registered Nurses utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, documentation, and evaluation) to provide direct and indirect patient care based on area(s) assigned, addressing the appropriate needs of all patients. Follow department philosophies, policies and procedures to develop unique education and care plans for each patient and provide appropriate education and support for family members. Utilize judgment, knowledge and understanding of patient and family needs when directing ancillary staff. The Float Pool RN is a member of the 4th floor/Telemetry staff and must function across departments as a critical care RN, requiring experience and knowledge across variable areas and acuity. Float Pool RN work across ED, ICU, Telemetry & Med‑Surg.

Qualifications

• Maintains current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• Acute Care Telemetry & Critical Care experience preferred; at least 1 year of recent ICU experience preferred
