Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore, MD, is seeking registered nurses to join our float pool across multiple medical-surgical units, including Tower 1, Tower 3, Tower 4, Tower 5, Tower 6 and the ED Boarders.

Open to RNs with at least 2 years of acute care experience; roles include Full Time Nights and PRN Days/Nights. Base pay features shift differentials, holiday pay, and preceptor/charge pay. Active MD license or compact state license and BLS required, ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Active MD RN license or compact state RN required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; acute care preferred (Med Surg Telemetry).
• ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Pay

• Base Pay based on working years of experience as a nurse
• Hourly float pool differential (X 12 hours)
• Shift Differentials
• Charge/Preceptor Pay

Full Time Requirements

• Three 12-hour shifts and every 3rd weekend
• 3 designated holidays per year
• 2 hard-to-fill shifts per year (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter Sunday, Halloween, Super Bowl Sunday, Black Friday, 4th of July Nights)

PRN Requirements

• Minimum of 6 shifts per 6 weeks
• If working a straight day or straight night shift, 3 (of the 6 shifts) weekend shifts required
• If working rotating shifts, must work at least 3 night or weekend shifts
• 1 holiday per year
• 1 hard-to-fill shift per year

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 2 years of RN experience required; at least 2+ years of acute care RN experience, particularly in Med Surg Telemetry, strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross) by completion of introductory period. ACLS & NIHSS strongly preferred.
