Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for our acute care teams in Texas. This role involves providing nursing care to a group of patients under minimal supervision, ensuring competencies are met during the introductory period, and performing duties as assigned.

The position requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program and an active Texas RN license, with BLS on hire and ACLS/PALS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse (RN).
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire; AHA BLS within 60 days.
• ACLS and PALS as required within specified timelines; TNCC within 1 year; ENPC for pediatrics where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients based on matching needs with competencies.
• Completes established competencies within designated introductory period.
• Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years in acute care preferred
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
• REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): ADULT ED:
• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role*Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role*Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.NOTE: PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.
• TNCC within 1 year of date of hire or transfer date into unit
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained with 60 days of hire date or transfer to position
• ENPC is preferred
• PEDIATRIC ED:
• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role*Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
• TNCC within 1 year of date of hire or transfer date into unit
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained with 60 days of hire date or transfer to position
• ENPC within 18 months of hire or transfer into role.
