Job summary

Join our Baptist Medical Center team as a Registered Nurse, delivering nursing care to a group of patients under minimal supervision. You will complete required competencies within the introductory period and take on related duties as assigned.

The role requires a Texas RN license, with BLS at hire and ACLS within 60 days for Dialysis; Behavioral Health requires Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
• No prior experience required for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health.
• For Dialysis: 1 year of acute/chronic dialysis.
• Preferred: 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg.
• 2 years in psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health.
• 2 years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis.
• Active Texas RN license; Behavioral Health: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire.
• CPR: Must have Healthcare Provider BLS at hire; ACLS within 60 days of hire if in Dialysis.
• ACLS required within 60 days for ACLS in Dialysis unit.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonusUnder minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.


• PREFERRED EDUCATION : Bachelors Degree


• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health


• 1 year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis


• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg


• 2 years in psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health


• 2 years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis


• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.For RN in Behavioral Health: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into department


• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:


• REQUIRED CCOURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):


• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.


• Dialysis Department: In addition to Basic Life Support, ACLS (AHA) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit.


• Behavioral Health Unit: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for Behavioral Health must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into role#LI-NS1
