Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Jersey City Medical CenterEmergency Services. The role focuses on patient assessment, evidence‑based care, and collaboration with physicians in a fast‑paced environment.

You will support families, document in EPIC, and participate in rounds and care transitions, with evenings shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and BLS certification.
• BSN preferred and prior emergency nursing experience are encouraged.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and detect clinical changes.
• Administer medications and care per established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate timely care.
• Educate patients and families to support informed decisions and discharge planning.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and promote teamwork.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience in emergency nursing and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. You will work the eveningshift, 12p-12a and every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
