Job summary

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Texas seeks a day-shift, full-time Nursing Manager (RN) for the Emergency Department to lead clinical operations, staffing, and patient flow in a busy ED.

You will mentor nurses, ensure regulatory compliance, partner with physicians and hospital leadership, and drive a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care. BSN is required, with licensure in Texas or multi-state option, and you will complete certifications per program timelines.

Qualifications

• BSN is required and must be completed within two years of hire.
• Registered Nurse with Texas Board of Nursing license or multi-state license under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role; ACLS within 6 months; PALS or ENPC within 6 months; TNCC within 18 months.
• Five (5) years of experience in an Emergency Department in a hospital setting.
• Three (3) years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Manager, Emergency Services is accountable for the delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Oversee clinical operations, human resources, staff education and competency.
• Duties include staffing, scheduling, payroll, staff education, and overall clinical function and throughput of the department.

• Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role, and prior to providing direct patient care, or ARC (American Red Cross) is required upon hire.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire
• TNCC within 18 months of hire
• Five (5) years of experience in an Emergency Department in a hospital required
• Three (3) years management experience
