Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for Pre/Post in the Endoscopy Unit. This is a Full Time, Day shift with five 8-hour shifts from 6:45a to 4:15p, Monday to Friday. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates, along with parking and education assistance.

Minimum RN degree required; BLS within 90 days and ACLS within 6 months of hire. BSN/MSN preferred and Endoscopy/procedural experience highly regarded.

Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts: The hours are 645a to 415P between Monday and Friday.

Endoscopy Unit:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital's Digestive Care Center's board-certified gastroenterologists, including two Gastroenterology physicians and a colorectal surgeon, treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus. The department sees an average of 16-18 procedures per day, both ambulatory and inpatient. The pre/post RN can expect a nurse patient ratio of 1:3.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

• Degree in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure

• BLS within 90 days of hire
• ACLS within 6 months of hire

Experience

• Previous Endoscopy experience preferred
• 18 months of procedural nursing experience preferred
• Experience in Operating room or sterile settings preferred
• Team work and communication skills required
