Job summary

Iowa Digestive Disease Center in Clive, Iowa, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our endoscopy team. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for gastrointestinal procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment and experience in procedural nursing.

You will be responsible for patient preparation, assisting physicians, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring safe recovery post-procedure. Our center offers favorable working hours with no weekends or holidays, alongside generous benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in endoscopy, procedural nursing, or gastroenterology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients, review medical history, start IVs, and prep for endoscopic procedures.
  • Educate patients on procedure expectations, prep instructions, and aftercare.
  • Support physicians during colonoscopies, EGDs, and other GI procedures.
  • Monitor sedation levels, vital signs, and patient safety throughout the procedure.
  • Monitor patients in recovery, assess for complications, and provide discharge education.
  • Ensure patients are stable before release and understand follow-up care instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and procedure rooms.
  • Follow strict infection control and scope reprocessing protocols.
  • Accurately chart patient information and procedure details.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care.

Hours
