Job description

This is a Monday through Friday position with call. Experienced RNs are eligible for the $20,000.00 sign-on bonus**

Summary of Primary Function

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient problems/needs, evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care, and coordinates patient teaching activities. Also, manages the care provided by health team members.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyzes assessment data, creates a care plan, implements treatment, and evaluates effectiveness.
  • Administers medications safely according to state practice laws and organizational policies.
  • Serves as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement and acts as a patient safety advocate.
  • Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery.
Skills
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and innovations.
  • Strong nursing judgment based on biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences.
  • Application of the nursing process in patient care.

Certifications

ACLS, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required before independent patient care at BSMH).

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
