Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the fast-paced GI lab. You will admit, recover, and support a high-volume GI service line including Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and related procedures.

Strong teamwork and communication are essential to ensure top-quality patient outcomes. Requirements include completion of an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in Illinois, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• A Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Endoscopy/GI experience is required.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms) in clinical and administrative contexts.

Where You Will Work:

In the GI lab we have approximately 60-70 cases per day. Admit 7 beds/Recovery 10 beds/Procedure rooms 7. Very fast paced. We assist in ambulatory with pediatric cases, and we assist in the main operating room with many GI lab cases. We do Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, as well as many therapeutic procedures. Diverse population of team members with many skill levels coming together to create the best patient experience with the best patient outcomes.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Teamwork, having an emphasis on patients receiving high quality care. Communication, hard-working, multi-tasking, engagement. Collaboration
• Endoscopy/GI experience is required
