Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Endoscopy unit. The role requires 1 year of Endoscopy RN experience preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4–10 hour shifts with a monthly call split among the team and 6 days of call when fully staffed.

The RN will provide safe, age-specific nursing care, using the nursing process, and will collaborate closely with the team to optimize patient outcomes and clinical operations while maintaining PHI and professional standards.

Qualifications

BSN or MSN required.
RN license in Ohio and/or multi-state compact (per hire).
BLS required; ACLS/PALS as per unit.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, age-specific nursing care using the nursing process.
Deliver relationship-based care and demonstrate safe clinical practices.

Registered Nurse (RN)- Endoscopy - ( 2600066E )

One Year Endoscopy RN Experience (Preferred knowledge on bonchs). Strongly Preferred

Schedule M-F, 4-10 hour shifts. Call split evenly between the team members on a monthly basis. 6 days of call/month when fully staffed. Additional call may be needed should business need arrive. Self-scheduling: team works together to schedule days off and call shifts.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.
Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing.
Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) or
(MN) Master in Nursing (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
