Job summary

Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a full-time Endoscopy RN for the day shift to deliver high-quality care. The role involves circulating and assisting in GI procedures, maintaining clear communication within the endoscopy team, and ensuring proper room setup and equipment readiness.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of endoscopy/gastroenterology experience, Virginia RN licensure, and BLS. ACLS as required by the facility. Teamwork and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year procedural endoscopy/gastroenterology experience.
• BLS certification required; ACLS based on facility.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility; multi-state license acceptable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Circulating/scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Circulates and assists in GI procedures (egd, colonoscopy, etc.).
• Facilitates communication within and outside the endoscopy suite.
• Reports progress to the OR Nurse Manager; notes unusual circumstances.
• Prepares room for GI procedures and verifies equipment function and supplies.
• Verifies consent, chart history, and signatures; ensures documentation is complete.

Job description

Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently hiring a Full-Time, seasoned Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to become an integral member of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. This position is day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare.

HOURS: Full-Time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to:

• Circulates and assists in GI procedures, i.e. egd, colonoscopy, etc.
• Provides communication between team members within the endoscopy suite and outside the endoscopy suite.
• Informs the OR Nurse Manager of case progress and reports and unusual circumstances.
• Arranges room for specific GI procedure.
• Verifies proper function of necessary equipment.
• Assures that adequate supplies are available per procedure.
• Verifies operative consent for correct patient, procedure & physician. Ensures all documentation is signed, dated and timed. Verifies chart has complete and updated history & physical.
• Assists in patient transport to and from the GI room.
• May assist anesthesia provider during induction & during other crucial periods.
• Assists with decontamination of equipment and instruments using detergents and disinfectant solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of one-year procedural experience in endoscopy/gastroenterology
• Circulating/Scrub experience is highly desired
• Strong understanding of endoscopic equipment, patient monitoring, and sedation protocols
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or possession of an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (based on facility)
• Must be willing to float to Operating Room as needed (applicable to candidates with OR nursing experience)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional patient communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
