Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a high-volume ED. The role emphasizes delivering quality patient care, collaboration with the care team, and flexible shift coverage in a busy 22-bed ED.

Applicants should hold an active state RN license and a Bachelor’s degree in nursing; BLS is required with ACLS/PALS preferred. A $10,000 two-year commitment bonus is offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school required.
• Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS, PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided and communicates patient condition to the care team.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and coordinates transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and participates in performance improvement.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

Our ED has seen steady growth since opening the new building in 2012, seeing almost 35,000 patients each year in the 22 bed ED alone, that’s 95 patients per day.

How You'll Contribute

An Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification
• One year of Emergency Room RN experience preferred
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, & Handle with Care preferred
