Job summary

Fleming County Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ER team on a 3x12 shift (7a-7p). You will provide direct care to critically ill adults, perform medications administration and clinical treatments, and document care in a fast-paced acute setting within Lifepoint Health.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact RN license required.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school required.
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document all patient care accurately.
• Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Collaborate across disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referral and psychosocial support.
• Educate patient and family based on age, culture, condition and circumstances.
• Advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

The ER is a 7-bed unit that provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Additional requirements include: ACLS, BCLS, PALS; NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• Education: Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
