Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), part of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services department at Bridgton Hospital. The role involves delivering safe ED care, teaching patients and families, and coordinating with physicians on patient status.

Qualifications include active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS or ENPC, and 1 year ER experience. Certification and BSN are preferred; sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate required at hire; maintain current.
• ACLS certificate required within 30 days of hire; maintain current.
• PALS and/or ENPC certificate required within 30 days of hire; maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other staff while maintaining professional standards.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician and document results and treatments.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. They communicate with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. 1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. 3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. 4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. 5. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
6. 6. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
7. 7. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
8. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. 1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
2. 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
3. 3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. 4. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.

Pay Transparency

Bridgton Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $37.00 to $51.28. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
