Texas Health Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mid Shift in the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers a sign-on bonus for eligible new hires and requires ACLS, CPI, ENPC/TNCC, and PALS within specified timelines.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma with RN licensure, BCLS, and ER experience. The department emphasizes rapid, compassionate care and ongoing professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or nursing diploma required.
• RN licensure required upon hire.
• BCLS required prior to independent patient care.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• ENPC within 12 months, TNCC within 12 months, and PALS within 90 days.
• 1 year ER experience required or completion of RN residency.
• 2-3 year ER experience preferred.
• CLIAFE compliance for foreign education equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient and plans care.
• Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates outcomes.
• Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.

Work hours: Full-Time Mid Shift, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 12:00 pm – 12:00 am

Here’s What You Need

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
• 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
• 2-3 year ER experience preferred.
• ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course – 12 months required
• TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course – 12 months required
• PALS - within 90 days of hire

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
