Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on the 12-hour night shift. You will engage in hands-on patient care for emergent and critical patients, participate in state-of-the-art simulation labs, and pursue trauma certification in a Level 2 Trauma Center.

Minimum qualifications include ADN, CT RN license, and ER experience; BLS/CPR, ACLS, TNCC preferred with post-hire training.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an ADN is required.
• Valid Connecticut RN license is required.
• One year ER nursing experience is preferred.

Description:

Position Purpose

In the Emergency Department (ED) at Saint Mary's Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering care to emergent and critical patients.

What You Will Do

• Engage in didactic learning sessions designed to enhance your understanding of Emergency Department (ED) nursing, with a focus on utilizing a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
• Apply critical thinking skills to manage high-acuity and complex patients effectively.
• Pursue certification as a trauma nurse, with opportunities for professional growth in a Level 2 Trauma Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience.

Preferred:

• Candidates with a minimum of one year of acute inpatient nursing experience will be considered for training.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)

Position Highlights

• Full-Time: 36 hrs/week – Night Shift - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly Staff RN position; pay range: $37.25 – $61.75/hour
  • Pay is based on working RN experience only. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

• Unit-based specialty pay is available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
