Job summary

Lourdes Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in Washington, DC. This full-time union position requires 3x12s, evening/mid shifts (3p-3a) and a wage scale of $42.14-$78.11 per hour with a $10,000-$20,000 commitment-incentive bonus. The ED operates 24/7 with a staffed team focused on high-quality patient care.

Applicants should be licensed in the state, hold a BSN/ASN, and have ACLS/BCLS/PALS. 1–3 years of ED experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• ACLS, BCLS, PALS; NIHSS within 90 days of hire.
• 1–3 years of Emergency Department RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs care plans, including medication administration, specimen collection and treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition for the team and family.
• Assists with activities of daily living and coordinates transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Educates patients and families based on age and culture; supports psychosocial needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and continued education.

How you’ll contribute

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

• ACLS, BCLS, PALS; NIHSS within 90 days of hire
• 1 to 3 years of RN Emergency Department experience preferred
