Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Staff/Med Surg I on a 12-hour night shift. You will assess patients, administer medications, document progress, and educate families in a high-volume acute care setting.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN with BSN preferred and is licensed as a South Carolina RN, with BLS required and ACLS preferred. Strong teamwork and documentation skills are essential for patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems.
  • Current SC RN license and BLS; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individualized patient assessments and plan care with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor responses.
  • Document patient data and progress; educate patients and families.
  • Support emergency care and maintain patient safety throughout shifts.

Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.Performs appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by provider in an accurate and timely manner.Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family.Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change.Education QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).
